Mr. Mortazavi is a second generation Builder and Developer located in San Francisco. He graduated with a BS in Electrical Computer Engineering from the University of California Santa Barbara in 2001. His idealistic nature led him to pursue a career as an environmental engineer. He decided to switch careers when he had the opportunity to work as the project manager, interior and landscape designer for the Pinnacle Group (www.pinnaclehome.com). In his first project, he worked from the demolition until completion of a four million dollar speculative single family home in Old Palo Alto.
After gaining the necessary experience and obtaining his general contracting license he started to develop, design and build his own properties. As of 2010, he has developed and sold $25 million worth of single family and multi-family homes in Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Atherton and San Francisco. He works as the developer, general contractor, project manager, and the interior and landscape designer on all of his projects. He has recently expanded to design and build various scale projects for clients that vary in size from bathroom remodels to 10,000 square foot tenant improvements.
His team of artisan craftsmen and draftsmen have experience creating traditional European details as well as contemporary cutting edge details. His background as an environmental engineer has made him conscious of the wasteful nature of the construction industry and the various pollution that arises from it. He received his LEED AP certification in 2007 and he tries to utilize green practices whenever it is economically advantageous and it does not deteriorate from the design and overall aesthetic of the building. He also creates a series of limited edition furniture and lighting creations that utilize recycled elements from construction debris and refer in form to the nature of the element.
